The Japanese government is actively working to vitalize international arbitration in Japan. The government has been reforming its arbitration laws, and developing cutting-edge facilities and experts with knowledge and experience of international arbitration.
Southeast Asia, including Japan and Thailand, has a long history of valuing dispute settlement through discussion between the parties based on their mutual trust. In light of this background, they have preferred to use negotiation and mediation for international dispute resolution, which are currently attracting great attention around the world.
With a primary focus on Thailand and its surrounding countries, this webinar will provide an overview of international arbitration and mediation in Japan, the attractiveness of Japan as a seat of arbitration, and the key features of a JCAA arbitration.
